Literacy Acquisition in German or French in the Pilot Project “ALPHA - zesumme wuessen” – First longitudinal ÉpStan Results of Student Characteristics, Achievement, Motivation, and Parental Support

With the Luxembourg School Monitoring Data (ÉpStan) collected in autumn 2025/26, the first cohort of the project “ALPHA – zesumme wuessen” students that were already assessed in Cycle 2.1 within the ÉpStan in 2023/24 and for which first results were presented by researchers from the Luxembourg Centre of Educational Testing (Colling et al., 2024) in June 2024, have now been assessed in Cycle 3.1 (two years later), which allows to monitor students’ academic outcomes over time. The aim of this report is thus, to empirically examine the developmental trajectories of this first cohort, who started their primary education in the scope of “ALPHA - zesumme wuessen”.
