Getting started with ORBilu – It takes just a minute to deposit! 

 

This guide helps you start using ORBilu, to add and edit references, to create publication reports, to view your statistics and other tips for managing your references and profile. With the DOI import feature, you can deposit a peer reviewed publication in just a minute, just paste the DOI in the box!

ORBilu (Open Repository and Bibliography Luxembourg) is the institutional repository of the University of Luxembourg. ORBilu ensures global visibility for the University's researchers and their collaborations. ORBilu is a publicly accessible repository with open metadata that is shared across the web, and with full text content that you deposit. In the last 12 months, ORBilu had 1,7 million visitors, over a million documents were downloaded and 53% of all full text content is open access.

With ORBilu you can: 

  • Deposit all your research output, in particular peer reviewed publications, conference proceedings, books and book  and chapters, but ORBilu also welcomes grey literature, e.g. reports, presentations, lectures, brochures and any outreach work that you do. You can also create a metadata record for datasets and content that may be deposited elsewhere.
  • By enriching your metadata, you ensure that your research goes a long way to be FAIR; findable and accessible to all, removing the barriers to research. ORBilu metadata is based on repository standards, and this makes the metadata interoperable and reusable
  • You can create publication reports and download statistics of who is viewing and downloading your publications and content.
  • From ORBilu your research content is pushed to a number of search engines and collected by harvesters. Within hours your research will be findable on the web. (To find out more read impact and visibility).
  • Spend a few minutes each month on ORBilu and you will ensure your high-quality research here at the University is ORBilu metadata is based on repository standards, and this makes the metadata interoperable and reusable. Most of all you make yourself visible.
