[en] Interest in decentralized financial applications continues to grow. But as adoption accelerates, so do concerns about (re-)centralization driven by regulatory and economic considerations. In this chapter, we take a closer look at these concerns. In particular, we analyze how regulatory requirements can lead to more centralized responsibilities and how economic considerations on different levels of the decentralized finance (DeFi) technology stack can limit the degree of technical decentralization.
