Abstract :
[en] This chapter presents the multiple strands of the macabre in Occitan-speaking regions, focusing on a little-known poem, 'Lo Cocir de la Mort' (see chapter 8). It stresses the international dimension to the art and literature of these regions, focusing on the Avignon papacy as well as on a unique Danse macabre painted ceiling in Albi.
