[de] Das Kapitel beleuchtet, was den Beruf der Schulpsycholog*in ausmacht, dessen Entwicklungsgeschichte, Ausbildungsanforderungen und Tätigkeitsfelder sowie dessen ethische Standards. Von den Anfängen mit Wundt und Witmer über die Konsolidierung in den USA bis zur heutigen Rolle der Schulpsychologie in der Förderung von psychischer Gesundheit und Bildungsgerechtigkeit wird ein umfassendes Bild der Profession gezeichnet. Die Ausbildung variiert international, mit einem Kern aus Psychologiestudium und praxisbezogener Weiterbildung. Ethik spielt eine zentrale Rolle, geleitet von Prinzipien wie Schadensvermeidung, Kompetenz und Würdigung der individuellen Rechte.
[en] This chapter highlights what defines the profession of school psychologist, its history, training requirements, fields of activity, and ethical standards. From its beginnings with Wundt and Witmer, through its consolidation in the US, to the current role of school psychology in promoting mental health and educational equity, a comprehensive picture of the profession is painted. Training varies internationally, with a core of psychology studies and practice-oriented further training. Ethics play a central role, guided by principles such as harm avoidance, competence, and respect for individual rights.
