[en] The aim of this first chapter is to provide an initial framework for analyzing cross-border work in the Greater Region SaarLorLux. It is organized into two parts. The first focuses on employment interdependencies in the Greater Region SaarLorLux, and the historical, legal and socio-economic characteristics of cross-border work. The second part of this chapter will focus on the many challenges (territorial development, cohesion, etc.) that remain to be met. [fr] Ce premier chapitre vise à apporter un premier cadre d’analyse du travail frontalier dans la Grande Région SaarLorLux. Il est organisé autour de deux temps. Le premier se focalisera sur les interdépendances en matière d’emploi dans la Grande Région SaarLorLux et les caractéristiques à la fois historiques, juridiques et socio-économiques du travail frontalier. Le second temps de ce chapitre se focalisera sur les nombreux défis (développement territorial, cohésion…) qu’il reste à relever.
