[en] Living in one country and working in another is a daily reality for thousands of people in Europe. The contributions in this book analyze the many facets of cross-border worker flows, identifying similarities and differences from one area to another. The socioeconomic, socio-cultural, territorial and legal realities and challenges of cross-border work in selected cross-border regions are discussed in detail. The many findings in this book shed light on little-known aspects of cross-border work in Europe. The aim is to encourage new research on this topic, while promoting dialogue between science and policy in order to develop cross-border solutions for territorial resilience in the context of polycrisis in Europe. [fr] Habiter dans un pays et travailler dans un autre est une réalité quotidienne pour des milliers de travailleurs frontaliers sous de nombreuses facettes, afin d’en déceler les similitudes et différences d’un espace à l’autre. Sont discutés plus particulièrement les réalités et défis socio-économiques, mais aussi socio-culturels, territoriaux et juridiques du travail frontalier dans les régions transfrontalières sélectionnées. Les nombreuses études mobilisées dans cet ouvrage éclairent des aspects méconnus du travail frontalier en Europe. L’objectif est d’encourager de nouveaux travaux sur ce sujet tout en favorisant le dialogue entre Science et Politique afin de développer des solutions transfrontalières pour une résilience territoriale dans un contexte de polycrise en Europe. Die Buchbeiträge analysieren diese Grenzgänger:innenströme aus unterschiedlichen Perspektiven, um Gemeinsamkeiten und Unterschiede zwischen Grenzregionen herauszuarbeiten. Vor allem sozioökonomische, soziokulturelle, territoriale und rechtliche Wirklichkeiten und Herausforderungen der Grenzgänger:innenbeschäftigung werden in ausgewählten Grenzregionen mit Hilfe von Fallstudien diskutiert und bisher kaum untersuchte Aspekte beleuchtet. Ziel ist es, Impulse für neue Untersuchungen zu diesem Thema zu setzen und den Dialog zwischen Wissenschaft und Politik anzuregen, um grenzüberschreitende Lösungen für eine territoriale Resilienz im Kontext der Polykrise in Europa zu entwickeln.
