[en] We compare full duplex (FD) and half duplex (HD) relaying in terms of coverage range. We consider a practical FD relay model where both the dynamic ranges of transmitter and receiver and the level of the residual loop interference between transmitted and received signals are taken into account. We numerically evaluate the rate performance of the full duplex multi-hop (FD-MH) scheme and the half duplex decode-and-forward (HD-DF) scheme, where the former requires transmit power allocation under the dynamic range constraint. Results show that there is a tradeoff between these two relaying modes.
