[en] In a first step, the presentation outlines recent developments of the bordering turn in border studies and elaborates the shift toward a conceptual texturalization of the border. It then discusses current approaches that assume a textural ontology of borders and adopt methodologies often described as “like-a-border” perspectives. Building on this, the second part introduces the bordertextures approach and demonstrates its analytical potential for cultural border research. Particular attention is given to the relationship between bordertexturing as a research technique and bordertextures as a complex object of inquiry. The presentation concludes by formulating key principles of texture-oriented border research and identifying points of connection with a revisited border sociology.
