Hôpital, foyer, rue : parcours de vie de personnes psychiatrisées à Bruxelles (1950-1980)

This dissertation examines the life trajectories of several dozen psychiatric patients in Brussels between 1950 and 1980, across hospitals, residential facilities, and the streets. By drawing on medical, judicial, and social archives, it reconstructs heterogeneous biographies that reveal both the reconfiguration of psychiatric care and the shifting place of marginal identities. Through a microhistorical, bottom-up approach, it foregrounds patients’ voices and experiences within a transforming post-war mental health landscape.
