Abstract :
[en] In this paper, we investigate forms of literary reception of medieval sonority using the examples of selected modern Minnelied-adaptations (Unmögliche Liebe, 2017) and Robert Löhr’s novel Krieg der Sänger (2012). The lyrical adaptations in the anthology attempt to either reconstruct the sounds transmitted through textual elements such as rhyme and meter, or even explore new sonic possibilities. Conversely, the readers of Löhr’s novel are immersed into a narrative soundscape inspired by the sonic reality of the medieval period. The analysis reveals a creative engagement of modern adaptations with medieval sonorities and performance: medieval sound continues to have a contemporary and enduring impact.
