Abstract :
[en] On Thursday 30 May 2024, Mrs Iliana Ivanova, European Commissioner European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth and the members of her Cabinet visited the University of Luxembourg, Belval campus. After being greeted by Mr Christian Weis, Mayor of the City of Esch-sur-Alzette, the guests had insightful discussions on the strategic vision for research and innovation at the University of Luxembourg in the European and international context with Prof. Simone Niclou, Vice-Rector for Research and Dr Elena Danescu, Research Scientist at the C2DH, Coordinator of the project Europe Direct (2021-2025) (ED-UNILU). The guests also visited the Luxembourg Learning Centre (LLC) in the company of its director, Mrs Marie-Pierre Pausch, and the multilingual documentary exhibition entitled “A graphic impression of Europe”, realized by the Europe Direct at the University of Luxembourg and the Jean Monnet Foundation of Europe (University of Lausanne) to raise public awareness of historical and archival sources relating to democracy and European parliamentarianism.
