Abstract :
[en] The Medieval French 'Debate of the Body and the Soul' is part of an established tradition in European Literature. The Occitan poems on the same theme are quite different and address ideas that are not found in the Francophone tradition. This chapter suggests that they may point to a distinctive view of mortality and especially to the concept of the particular judgement.
