[fr] Après avoir distingué deux régimes mystiques, le régime apophatique et le régime cataphatique, cet article se propose de montrer en quoi les discours de George W. Bush, essentiellement après les attentats du 11 septembre 2001, élaborent une fiction politico-religieuse dans laquelle ils mettent la mystique au service d’une religion fondamentaliste « civile » nationaliste, supposée légitimer l’invasion de l’Iraq. Il s’agit de dégager les stratégies énonciatives qui conjuguent la « politisation du religieux » et la « sacralisation du politique » en faisant du fondamentalisme une posture intellectuelle dont la nature est anthropologique (Leone, 2014), mais aussi en forgeant un imaginaire commun de diabolisation de l’ennemi islamiste. On se demande dans quelle mesure le mysticisme appelé à cautionner le politique est dénaturé.
[en] After distinguishing two mystical regimes, the apophatic and the cataphatic, this article sets out to show how George W. Bush's speeches, mainly after the attacks of September 11, 2001, elaborate a politico-religious fiction in which they place mysticism at the service of a "civil" nationalist fundamentalist religion, supposed to legitimize the invasion of Iraq. The aim is to identify the enunciative strategies that combine the "politicization of the religious" and the "sacralization of the political" by making fundamentalism an intellectual posture whose nature is anthropological (Leone, 2014), but also by forging a common imaginary of demonization of the Islamist enemy. We wonder to what extent mysticism, which is called upon to endorse politics, has been denatured.
