Abstract :
[en] Different currents and traditions have studied student attitudes at school, and more specifically much of the research has focused on school resistance. The study is based on an explanatory design of sequential mixed methods that consists of collecting quantitative data and then qualitative data to explain on the quantitative results. In this way, this article shows results from the qualitative phase based on the analysis of semi-structured interviews. It analyses the reasons why students have attitudes of adhesion or school resistance at the end of Compulsory Secondary Education (ESO) and how this influences their post-compulsory educational pathways. The results show an intersectionality when the attitude of the pupils at the end of compulsory education is analysed. Important differences are observed by class, origin and gender. The important role played by teachers and schools, their practices and the support they provide to students is highlighted. © 2021, Hipatia Editorial. All rights reserved.
