[fr] La lèpre est une maladie infectieuse, probablement originaire de l’Asie, qui était répandue en Europe centrale depuis l’Antiquité tardive jusqu’à l’Époque moderne. Pendant cette période, les léproseries étaient des institutions qui servaient notamment d’hébergement et d’établissement de soins pour les lépreux. Du Haut Moyen-âge à l’Époque moderne, ces institutions étaient notamment largement répandues en Europe.
[en] Leprosy is an infectious disease, probably originating in Asia, which was widespread in Central Europe from late antiquity until the modern era. During this period, leprosariums were institutions that served, among other things, as accommodation and care facilities for lepers. From the Early Middle Ages to the Modern Era, these institutions were particularly widespread in Europe.
[de] Lepra ist eine wahrscheinlich aus Asien stammende Infektionskrankheit, die von der Spätantike bis in die Neuzeit in Mitteleuropa verbreitet war. Während dieser Zeit waren Leprosorien Einrichtungen, die insbesondere als Unterkunft und Pflegeeinrichtung für Leprakranke dienten. Vom Hochmittelalter bis zur Neuzeit waren diese Einrichtungen in Europa weit verbreitet.
