[en] A contribution to a themed collection (intended for the general public) devoted to the historical memory and debates concerning battles from the Siege of Troy to Stalingrad. This chapter explores the representation of the massacre in 1209 of the population of Beziers, at the start of the Albigensian crusade, in terms of the development of national and regional identities.
