[en] Building on the innovative scholarly production models developed by the CVCE, this contribution explores the conceptual framework and the exploitation for research and knowledge transfer purposes of audiovisual sources, in particular in-depth interviews with key individual players of the European integration process. The interviews are chiefly conducted for research purposes, namely to provide new primary sources as complementary material to written text that can help to contrast and refine research findings, and also as a source of corroborative evidence that can offer unique insights given the nature of the medium and provide a “behind-the-scenes” view of European integration. It can be also seen as a cross-cutting method that fosters interdisciplinary and holistic approaches.
