Abstract :
[en] In this paper, the linear free flexural vibration of cracked isotropic and specially orthotropic plates is studied using the extended finite element method. The mixed interpolation technique of the well- established MITC4 [1] quadrilateral finite element with 12 standard degrees of freedom per element is used for this study. The natural frequencies of simply supported square plates are computed as a function of crack length and crack location.
