Yom Kippur war- October War - Israel - society - Arab-Israeli relations
Abstract :
[en] The dramatic boost in the fortunes of the newly-established Likud in the 1973 election came as a direct result of the perceived failures of the war. It also marked the coming of age of a new generation of Israelis who perceived Menachem Begin as a founding father of the state. This new generation, the Sephardim, the religious and the undereducated all moved to the Likud at this point in history.
