The event sought to support the modernization of the international agreement that currently governs relations between the European Union, its Member States, and Mexico (commonly referred to as the ‘Global Agreement’) and to contribute to its future implementation from the perspective of civil society. Preceding the event, a presentation was held with members of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate of the Mexican Congress on 19 April 2023, addressing the modernization of the Global Agreement from a parliamentary perspective.
