[de] The article focuses on musicological research activities at the University of Luxembourg. It highlights the historically conditioned lack of systematic research into Luxembourg's musical heritage and describes in detail the university's current efforts to close this research gap. The presentation focuses on two central research projects: firstly, the Luxembourg Music Encyclopaedia, which is designed as a biographical reference work, and secondly, the critical complete edition of the works of Laurent Menager, an influential composer of the 19th century. These projects aim to establish a sound academic basis for future musicological research in Luxembourg, document the national cultural heritage and integrate regional research more closely into the international musicological discourse. These initiatives aim to synthesise academic research and practical musical reception, thereby ensuring both the preservation of and ongoing engagement with Luxembourg's musical culture.
