Abstract :
[en] This paper introduces a straightforward method for estimating the gain in Terahertz frequency of a full-scale Reflective Intelligent Surface (RIS) model. The approach utilizes the equivalent circuit methodology combined with transmission line theory, specifically focusing on one of the employed unit cells. We outline a detailed process for deriving the equivalent circuit of the unit cell. By applying array theory principles, the paper demonstrates how to predict the maximum gain as a function of frequency. Additionally, the model incorporates various parameters that influence the overall gain, such as quantization levels, efficiency, and transmission line losses, providing a comprehensive understanding of the factors affecting RIS performance.
