Résumé :
[en] The objective of this interview is to provide the general public with information about the international legal rules applicable to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict following the criminal attacks launched by Hamas on 7 October 2023. Reaffirming the centrality of international law in dealing with this situation, it stresses in particular that international humanitarian law applies equally to both parties. Furthermore, it urges for restraint not only from states, but also from members of the general public, who have a moral responsibility not to fuel the further escalation of the conflict.
