Abstract :
[en] A closer observation of the many facets of in-work poverty and economic inequalities across the EU allows us to refl ect more attentively on the actual role of labour laws in perpetuating, or at least not adequately addressing, power and economic inequalities in contemporary societies. The aim of the chapter is to draw some lessons from the legal research conducted so far on in-work poverty by questioning the ultimate function of legal norms in relation to the societal problem of lifting working people out of poverty.
