Abstract :
[en] This paper presents an comprehensive review of the renewable energy landscape in Luxembourg, focusing on the evolution and potential growth of photovoltaic (PV) and wind installations. The study considers the increasing prevalence of prosumers-households that produce their own renewable energy and the growing electric vehicle market. By examining historical and current data, this paper evaluates the possibility of Luxembourg meeting its ambitious goals of a 55% reduction in emissions by 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2050. The analysis reveals trends, potential growth areas, and challenges in renewable energy production and consumption. The paper concludes with a discussion on the likelihood of meeting emission reduction targets and the pathway towards a sustainable, carbon-neutral future for Luxembourg. The implications of these findings suggest a promising but complex trajectory requiring strategic planning and policy support.
