[en] The marked heterogeneity that characterizes self-employment has led the European Court of Justice to distinguish between true and false self-employed, proposing qualifying criteria that do not always reflect the categories of national law. In the light of some key rulings on working time and non-discrimination, the essay examines the most recent initiatives promoted by the European legislator.
