Abstract :
[en] This book is the first monograph on the history of music in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. It covers a wide range of topics, from music before state independence to ethnomusicological and pedagogical aspects. It also considers aspects such as the suppression of music during the National Socialist occupation and the rise and fall of light music. Transnational reflections, without which a history of music in Luxembourg would be unthinkable, come into considerations. The abundance of information available makes it necessary to set an end point around the 1970 milestone.
