Abstract :
[en] The First World War led to the collapse of the great multiethnic European empires. In Russia, the monarchy is swept away and replaced by the soviet regime. Until 1923, the country was torn apart by a multi-faceted civil war. Moreover, in response to the national awakening of ethnic minorities encompassed in the former Russian space, young national states (Poland, Baltic States, Georgia ...) are being established on the edges of the former empire of the tsars.
