Mais les écarts par rapport à cette moyenne sont importants: avec l’augmentation de la taille du ménage, la surface du logement augmente également. Toutefois, la surface par tête est la plus importante pour les ménages d’isolés, c’est-à-dire les personnes vivant seules (95.2 m²). Pour un ménage de 6 personnes et plus, la surface disponible par personne n’est que de 30.1 m². C’est dans la commune d’Esch-sur-Alzette que la surface par ménage est la plus faible (96.0 m² en moyenne), alors que, dans la commune de Niederanven, la surface de logement par ménage atteint 190.2 m². Les surfaces disponibles varient également selon la nationalité de la personne de référence du ménage. Les ménages dont la personne de référence est britannique disposent des surfaces de logement les plus importantes (158.7 m² en moyenne par ménage), suivis par les Néerlandais (153.6 m² par ménage) et les Luxembourgeois (140.9 m²). Avec 97.9 m² en moyenne, les Portugais disposent des logements les moins grands.97.0% des logements disposent de l’équipement de base constitué par une salle de bains, un WC et un chauffage central.
[en] In Luxembourg, a household has, on average, 129.9 m² surface of dwelling. But deviations from this average are important: with increasing household size, the surface of dwelling also increases. However, the surface per capita is highest for single households, that is to say, people living alone (95.2 m²). For a household of six people or more, the surface available per person is only 30.1 m². It is in Esch-sur-Alzette where the dwelling surface per household is the lowest (96.0 m² on average), while in Niederanven the dwelling surface per household reaches 190.2 m². Dwelling surfaces also vary according to the nationality of the reference person of the household. Households whose reference person is British have the largest dwelling surface (158.7 m² per household on average), followed by the Dutch (153.6 m² per household) and Luxemburgers (140.9 m²). With 97.9 m² per household on average, the Portuguese live in smaller dwellings. There is also a link between the occupancy status and the surface of the dwelling. Owner households live in the most spacious dwellings (147.7 m² on average), while the surface available for tenant households is only 83.6 m². As the household size of owners is on average greater than that of renter households, per capita differences are smaller. The dwelling surface per capita of an owner household is 69.9 m², while for a tenant household, the dwelling surface per capita is 47.2 m². 97.0% of dwellings have a minimum standard of basic equipment, i.e. a bathroom, a toilet and central heating.

Am wenigsten Wohnfläche steht den Haushalten in Esch-sur-Alzette zur Verfügung (96.0 m² im Durchschnitt), wohingegen Niederanven mit 190.2 m² an der Spitze liegt. Zudem unterscheiden sich die Wohnsituationen je nach Nationalität der Referenzperson. Briten nannten die größten Wohnflächen (Durchschnitt von 158.7 m²), gefolgt von Niederländern (153.6 m²) und Luxemburgern (140.9 m²). Portugiesen haben mit 97.9 m² dagegen im Durchschnitt die kleinsten Wohnflächen genannt. Ein weiterer Zusammenhang besteht zwischen dem Wohnstatus und der Wohnfläche. Eigentümerhaushalte bewohnen die größten Flächen (147.7 m² im Durchschnitt), Mieterhaushalte die kleinsten (83.6 m²) und mietfreie Wohnungsnutzer liegen zwischen diesen Werten (117.0 m²). Da in Eigentümerhaushalten allerdings auch mehr Menschen wohnen, fallen die Unterschiede pro Kopf geringer aus. Pro Kopf liegt die Wohnfläche für Eigentümer im Durchschnitt bei 69.9 m² und für Mieter bei 47.2 m². Mit 97.0 % sind die weitaus meisten Wohnungen mit dem Mindeststandard ausgestattet, d.h. die Wohnung hat ein Bad, eine
Toilette innerhalb der Wohnung und eine Zentralheizung.
