	[en] The term of office of Peter Praet, a member of the Executive Board and Chief Economist of the ECB, will end on 31 May 2019. The appoitment procedure was initiated on Monday 21 January by the Eurogroup. This brief commentary goes back to the terms of appointment of the members of the Executive Board.
