[en] A new European regulation on data protection is currently keeping organisations across Europe busy in adapting their procedures, policies and documentation to meet the new requirements. For research, this regulation will have considerable consequences as well. An important aspect is the transparency of the processing of personal data in research. An overview of the changes due to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is describe and recommendations for information of study participants in clinical research and documentation of research activities to achieve GDPR compliance are given. Also the challenges resulting from the new Regulation are addressed. | |
