Abstract :
[en] Transport policy in Luxembourg provides the realization of a dense network of public transport. Motorists, especially the large number of commuters from the neighbor countries, should already change close to the borders to public traffic – especially to train. By that it is possible to relieve the national highways and also those in bordering regions. With the start into service of the new multi-storey car park Belval-Université in 2013, the first of a series of planned Park & Rail projects is realized. It is the most modern car park in Luxembourg and complies with high standards in architecture and traffic management systems. Together with the immediately adjacent train station, an intermodal platform with excellent transport links to the international financial center of Luxembourg City is created.
