Abstract :
[en] In this article a continuous-discrete high gain observer to estimate the molar compositions in a distillation column for ethanol-water mixture, using measurements of temperatures in the dishes is presented. One of the main advantages of this observer is its constant gain, so tune it depends only on the choice of constant parameters that must satisfy some simple algebraic inequalities. The continuous-discrete observer has a good track process dynamics despite using less data than an observer purely discrete. The effectiveness of the proposed method to estimate concentrations in a distillation column, and also their proper performance compared to the purely discrete version of the observer, are shown using experimental data.
