[en] The practical report presents the development of interactive digital television (iTV) at Telekom Austria. The report shows how the product could have been improved through two comprehensive user tests. Detailed results demonstrate what the users focus on when interacting with the graphical user interface and the remote control. They indicate the difficulties that appeared when operating the system and show how the design has been improved to reach high usability standards. The article gives a review of the development process and the most important insights provided by the two usability tests.
