[fr] Depuis le recensement de 2001, la population étrangère a augmenté de près de 35% pour atteindre, au 1er février 2011, 220 522 personnes représentant 43.04% de la population totale. Les personnes originaires des pays de l’UE-27 constituent 37.41% de la population résidante et près de 87% de la population étrangère vivant au Grand-Duché. La nationalité portugaise est la 1ère nationalité étrangère dans le pays avec 82 363 personnes (16.08% de la population totale). L’augmentation du nombre de Luxembourgeois est beaucoup moins prononcée. Au 1er février 2011, on comptait 291 831 personnes ayant la nationalité luxembourgeoise, soit un plus de 5.26% par rapport à 2001. Les Luxembourgeois de naissance représentent 48.67% de la population du Grand-Duché. L’âge moyen des personnes étrangères est de 35.30 ans et il est inférieur de 6.03 années à celui des Luxembourgeois. Les personnes étrangères résident en majorité dans le Centre ou le Sud du pays, mais l’augmentation du nombre d’étrangers, dans les dix dernières années, est plus marquée dans le Nord du Luxembourg que dans les autres régions. [en] Since the 2001 census, the foreign population has increased by nearly 35%. The 1st February 2011, there were 220 522 foreigners equivalent to 43.04% of the total population. People from the EU-27 countries (except Luxembourg) represent 37.41% of the resident population and nearly 87% of the foreign population living in the Grand Duchy. The Portuguese nationality is the first foreign nationality in the country with 82 363 individuals (16.08% of the total population). The increase of Luxembourgish is much less pronounced. On February 1st 2011, there were 291 831 persons with Luxembourgish nationality, that is to say an increase of 5.26% in comparison to 2001. The native people from Luxembourg constitute 48.67% of the total population. The average age for foreigners in Luxembourg is around 35 years, and is 6 years younger compared to Luxembourgish individuals. Foreign persons live mostly in the Centreor in the South of the country, but the growth of the number of foreigners in the last decade was higher in the Northern area than in other regions.
