El suizo Johann Heinrich Pestalozzi (1746-1827) transformó la teoría y la práctica de la educación en todo el mundo. En esta obra maestra, Daniel Tröhler muestra que el trabajo y la influencia de Pestalozzi deben entenderse como parte de la «educacionalización del mundo» (grandioso fenómeno ocurrido a finales del siglo XVIII y comienzos del siglo XIX) y de las ideas y los movimientos republicanos que se sucedían en Europa y América. Tröhler conecta hábilmente la obra de Pestalozzi con los problemas y las inquietudes sociales de la época, que estaban empezando a ser entendidos como problemas de la educación y que, como tales, había que tratarlos con remedios educativos. Sobre la base de nuevas investigaciones y con acopio de fuentes principales (entre ellas, la reciente publicación de unas 2.500 cartas enviadas a Pestalozzi), esta obra reconstruye el papel pasivo y activo de Pestalozzi en la creación del mundo educacionalizado en Europa e internacionalmente. Art-forms, which use digital technologies for production and design and which reflect these technologies critically, are becoming increasingly popular. Caused by vast technological development, art production and design has changed considerably during the last years. Nowadays digital artworks are generated multimodally by trend and integrate the visitor and the environment as represented and interactive participants into their work. In order to explore the meaning making potential of these artworks, the author has developed a systemic functional framework of analysis, which combines a sociological with a formal approach. This framework, which is based on semiotics and multimodal functional theory, enables researchers to analyze the interaction and exchange going on between artist, artwork, visitor and environment by describing semiotic resources that are used to generate digital artworks. Thus it offers an alternative semiotic perspective on art production and design and enriches our knowledge and perception when engaging with art. [less ▲]

Miessen zaprasza na swoisty seans terapeutyczny, abyśmy sobie uświadomili, jak sami się oszukujemy i pozbawiamy zdolności do działania na rzecz realnej, a nie fasadowej zmiany. To książka szczególna. Autor mówi wprost to, co wielu z nas podskórnie przeczuwa: jesteśmy wciągani do współudziału w wielkiej ściemie. Pokazuje, jak zupełnie niepostrzeżenie pewien ideał przerodził się we własną karykaturę. Dlatego książka ta powinna zostać w Polsce starannie przeczytana. The topic of this book is the automatic transmission of numerical information. We focus on the structure of information, without regarding the type of transmission support. Information can be of any kind as long as we can give a numerical representation of it: for example texts, images, sounds, videos. Transmission of this type of data is ubiquitous in technology, especially in telecommunications. Hence, it is necessary to rely on solid foundations for that transmission to be reliable. In this context, we explain how to structure the information so that its transmission is safe, error-free, efficient and fast. It can be used as a reference book by teachers, researchers or companies involved in telecommunication or information security, such that the information it now contains will be still relevant for the coming years as it was the case until now. This exploratory study is devoted in equal measure to the status quo and the future perspectives of the internationalisation of dual study programmes, a special hybrid form of vocational training and higher education developed in Germany. Building on the earlier DAAD studies ‘Sachstand: Duales Studium als Exportmodell’ (Maschke 2012) and ‘Modelle und Szenarien für den Export deutscher Studienangebote ins Ausland’ (Schreiterer and Witte 2001; see also DAAD/HRK 2012), the authors examine both the degree of internationalisation of existing dual study programmes in Germany (with special emphasis on students’ geographical mobility) and the possibilities and limits of systematically transferring this emergent educational model to selected countries. Two recent trends have helped put issues of internationalisation and the transfer of German education concepts higher up on the policy agenda again: first, the current economic situation in Germany, which has remained robust despite the recent financial and economic turmoil, reflected most importantly in comparatively low levels of youth unemployment. Dual vocational education and training models are seen as a key factor contributing to this success. Second, the concept of dual studies reflects an emergent model of skill formation at the nexus of initial vocational training and tertiary education. This innovative hybrid form is seen as having the potential to play a crucial role in the development of competencies for twenty-first-century occupations, not least against the backdrop of the pressing skills gap. Eine erste Befragung in allen öffentlich geförderten Begabtenförderwerken 2008 zeigte, dass häufig diejenigen Stipendien erhalten, deren Eltern bereits studiert haben. Das Anliegen der Hans-Böckler-Stiftung hingegen ist es, Chancengleichheit in der Bildung unabhängig von der sozialen Herkunft und den finanziellen Möglichkeiten zu schaffen. Um einen Einblick in die Studiensituation und soziale Lage der eigenen Stipendiatinnen und Stipendiaten zu erhalten, wurden im Wintersemester 2010/11 alle Geförderten befragt. Hierbei zeigt sich, dass in der Hans-Böckler-Stiftung besonders viele Stipendia-tinnen und Stipendiaten gefördert werden, die keine akademische Vorerfahrung in der Familie haben. Gleichzeitig scheint sich die soziale Herkunft kaum auf die Bewertung der eigenen Studiensituation auszuwirken. Durch spezielle Aufnahmeverfahren und die primäre Förderung von (ehemaligen) Ar-beitnehmerinnen und Arbeitnehmern zeigen die Ergebnisse der Befragung, dass es möglich ist, Be-gabtenförderung und Bildungsaufstieg zu verbinden. It tells how noise-induced fatigue became an issue once the car became a mass means for touring across the country. It unravels the initial societal concerns about the dangers of car radio and what it did to drivers' attention span. Ce volume aborde des phénomènes de mobilité spatiale rarement pris en considération dans les débats actuels en sciences sociales où la mobilité est considérée comme un «principe général de la modernité» (Bonß et al. 2004) et célébrée comme un nouveau paradigme. A l'exemple de l’espace Sahara-Sahel, les auteurs traitent ici de variantes « banales » de mobilité et de mouvement dans la mesure où elles représentent des formes élémentaires de recherche de subsistance et de revenu. Ces formes sont le contraire de ce que l’on peut assimiler à des stratégies de « libre choix » ou les expressions d’une individualité moderne. Une des particularités des articles présentés ici est d’analyser diverses formes de mobilité spatiale, tant régionales qu’à travers des exemples classiques de migration européenne, non seulement en fonction de leurs effets économiques sur l'individu et la collectivité d’origine mais aussi des implications locales et régionales qu’elles génèrent. L’objectif de cet ouvrage est ainsi d'attirer l'attention sur le fait que ces mouvements présentent néanmoins un potentiel inhérent de changement et de développement. Les textes ont été rédigés à partir des communications présentés à un atelier de travail interdisciplinaire financé par la Fondation allemande pour la Recherche (DFG), à Bamako en Février 2011. Des études empiriques sur l’espace Sahara-Sahel y ont été mises en lumière dans une perspective "vue de loin", qui compare les conditions politiques et administratives des mobilités en Afrique de l'Ouest. S’y ajoute une perspective « vue de près » qui suggère une conception de mobilité inspirée de celle des nomades sahélo-sahariens et non de celle des voyageurs occidentaux modernes. [less ▲]

La motivation première de ce doctorat en cotutelle est de décrire, de caractériser et de mieux comprendre les pratiques plurilingues en milieu professionnel en croisant les perspectives allemandes et françaises. Les deux terrains de recherche sélectionnés sont une entreprise aéronautique européenne et l’UNESCO. Ils ont des caractéristiques linguistiques similaires : l’utilisation de l’anglais comme langue véhiculaire, la localisation d’un site à Hambourg en Allemagne, leurs sièges sociaux respectifs en France, des communications régulières avec des sites en zone hispanophone, ainsi que l’offre de cours d’anglais, de français, d’allemand et d’espagnol auprès de leurs employés. La recherche se donne trois objectifs : comparer le «_prescrit » par les politiques linguistiques, identifier les situations précises liées à des pratiques plurilingues en milieu professionnel et repérer les rôles des salariés selon le vecteur de communication choisi. On fait l’hypothèse que le discours officiel qui enjoint d’utiliser l’anglais laisse, en fait, de la place aux échanges multilingues lors de différentes activités quotidiennes. Les réglementations linguistiques au plan européen, au plan national et au niveau entrepreneurial sont exposées, puis les recherches menées dans les milieux professionnels sont introduites pour faire émerger la problématique. Dans la mesure où le recueil des données est basé sur la démarche de la triangulation au moyen de questionnaires, d’entretiens ainsi que d’enregistrements et d’observations de réunions, il amène à analyser des discours de différentes natures. A partir de la question de cadrage, envisagé au plan linguistique comme au plan sociologique, on essaie d’établir le lien entre posture professionnelle et pratiques langagières. Il semblerait que les faits de pluri-compétences, de pluri-linguisme, de multi-linguisme et de pluri-activités donnent matière à repenser nos méthodologies d’enseignement des langues. [less ▲]
