Security models for PAKE protocols aim to capture the desired security properties that such protocols must satisfy when executed in the presence of an active adversary. They are usually classified into i) indistinguishability-based (IND-based) or ii) simulation-based (SIM-based). The relation between these two security notions is unclear and mentioned as a gap in the literature. In this work, we prove that the SIM-based model of Boyko, Mackenzie and Patel [EUROCRYPT00] and the IND-based model of Abdalla, Fouque and Pointcheval are equivalent, in the sense that a protocol proven secure in one model is also secure in the other model. Many studies have shown that humans can easily extract numerical characteristics of single digits such as numerical magnitude and parity status. We investigated whether spontaneous processing of magnitude or parity status can be observed when participants are passively presented with sequences of briefly displayed Arabic digits. We assessed the parity processing by presenting seven odd digit numbers followed by one even digit (and reverse) with a sinusoidal contrast modulation at a frequency of 10HZ in one-minute sequences. The same paradigm and frequencies were used to investigate magnitude processing (i.e. seven digits smaller than five followed by one digit larger than five; and reverse) and control condition (i.e. sequence of 1-4-6-9 followed by 2-3-7 or 8). We observed a strong EEG activation on right parietal electrodes and a weaker activation on left parietal electrodes in all conditions. Left and right activations were stronger in the parity than in the other conditions, reflecting an automatic retrieval of parity information conveyed by the Arabic digits. The weaker activation during the magnitude task could reflect a more complicated access of the information corresponding to magnitude status. Right activations during the control task could be due to the fact that subjects can quickly learn to categorize numbers arbitrarily. These neuronal activation patterns are consistent with the neuro-imaging literature describing the localization of basic numerical processing. Our findings indicate that magnitude and parity status are extracted automatically from Arabic digits, even when numerical stimuli are presented without instructions at a high presentation rate. In time series analysis and other setups, numerous inference procedures need to use residuals, instead of the unobserved errors. In the present paper, we establish general and versatile results regarding the limit of partial-sum processes of ARMAX residuals. Process limits based on residuals often do not correspond to process limits based on the error terms. To illustrate the generality and versatility of our results, we apply them to misspecified ARMA with correlated errors, nonlinear ARMAX, a range of ARMA processes with infinite-variance errors, ARMA with a unit root and a polynomial time-trend, or with seasonal dummy variables to obtain consistency of kernel estimation of the density of ARMAX errors, the asymptotic distribution of statistics useful for CUSUM tests and change-point problem type of tests, and some local power results. I will explain how one can construct Galois representations that take values in local mod $p$ Hecke $\mathbb{F}_q$-algebras. I will then show how one can compute explicitly the image of such a Galois representation assuming that the corresponding residual representation has big image. Finally I will show some computations of these images in concrete examples. [less ▲]

In this presentation we consider the implications of conceptualizing entrepreneurial as the practice of artifactual design. The concept of design draws attention to the interdependence of agency and material artifacts in the entrepreneur's ability to overcome (or not) the constraints of embodied practice and the contingent environment. We develop a conceptual understanding of how the entrepreneur extends the spatio temporal reach of entrepreneurial agency by embedding entrepreneurial purpose in various artifactual forms - forms which then contextualist subsequent activity. In this process also, the future is created as multiple actors create, enact, test, modify, transform and implement these artifactual forms through embodied practice. [less ▲]

One of the major research projects currently under way is dedicated to the European vocation and achievements of Pierre Werner, a former Prime Minister, Finance Minister and Foreign Minister of Luxembourg, unanimously recognised as one of the architects of Economic and Monetary Union. The first stage of the research project particularly focuses on the plan for the establishment by stages of an economic and monetary union (more widely known as the Werner Report or the Werner Plan), drawn up by a group of experts chaired by Pierre Werner and officially presented on 8 October 1970 in Luxembourg. The project will then concentrate on the events that subsequently led to Economic and Monetary Union, as seen through the eyes of Pierre Werner and from the perspective of his own contribution; it will also examine a number of issues in which the former Luxembourg Prime Minister was particularly involved, such as the question of the seats of the institutions, the Luxembourg Compromise, the accession of the United Kingdom, and cooperation between the Benelux countries and the Belgo-Luxembourg Economic Union (BLEU).
