Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) industry is a fast growing sector. Nowadays, the market offers numerous possibilities for off-the-shelf UAVs such as quadrotors or fixed-wings. Until UAVs demonstrate advance capabilities such as autonomous collision avoidance they will be segregated and restricted to flight in controlled environments. This work presents a visual fuzzy servoing system for obstacle avoidance using UAVs. To accomplish this task we used the visual information from the front camera. Images are processed off-board and the result send to the Fuzzy Logic controller which then send commands to modify the orientation of the aircraft. Results from flight test are presented with a commercial off-the-shelf platform. [less ▲]

Many systems like servo systems, satellites, harddisks, and CD players, can be modeled as linear systems with a single integrator and a saturation. Many times, such systems are controlled with a PI controller resulting in a feedback interconnection with a double integrator and a saturation. In this paper, we propose a loop transformation that results in bounded operators so that classical analysis tools like mu􀀀-analysis or IQCs can be applied. In order to show boundedness of all operators, we use quadratic surface Lyapunov functions to efficiently check if a double integrator in feedback with a saturation nonlinearity has L2 􀀀-gain less than gamma > 0 􀀀. We show that for many of such systems, the L2 􀀀-gain is non-conservative in the sense that this is approximately equal to the lower bound obtained by replacing the saturation with a constant gain of . A pesquisa objetivou investigar preditores da qualidade de vida (QV) de pessoas vivendo com HIV/aids (PVHA), baseada no modelo de autorregulação de Leventhal, no qual a influência da percepção da doença na QV é mediada por estratégias de enfrentamento. Foram 95 PVHA a responder aos instrumentos Brief IPQ, Brief Cope e WHOQOL-HIV Bref relativos, respectivamente, à percepção da doença, estratégias de enfrentamento e QV. Os resultados indicaram que a percepção da doença teve efeito direto e indireto na QV, mediado por estratégias de enfrentamento. Maior percepção de ameaça da doença associou-se à pior QV percebida; porém, o uso mais frequente das estratégias aceitação, distração e suporte instrumental e a menor utilização de desengajamento comportamental e de reinterpretação positiva amenizaram esse efeito negativo.
