In twenty-five years of journalism’s transformation, journalists have to deal with changes in their practices. Today, media-information (information setting) aggregates information-data (binary codification) with social-digital networks. The main issue of this development is homophilia resulting from cybernetic logic. By reconnecting with founding figures of information and communication sciences such as Norbert Wiener for cybernetics, and Paul F. Lazarsfeld for homophilia, we re-examine the concept of information in the light of the new media ecosystem. [less ▲]
