[more ▼] The paper suggests a possible legal framework for co-employment in the context of groups of companies, on the basis of the new article 2497 of the Italian civil code. After a brief analysis of the new legal regulation introduced with article 2497, on the one hand, and of the concepts of «group interest» and «group undertaking», on the other, a new mechanism for the ascription of employment relations is drawn as to coincide with the different boundaries of the group undertaking. The paper then takes into consideration recent theoretical perspectives, by suggesting that co-employment could be founded on the joint-liability paradigm.
